Shannon O'Brien Wright

Shannon O'Brien Wright - St. Louis AttorneyShannon O'Brien Wright graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law in Kansas City, Missouri. While there, Shannon served as a Literary Editor on the UMKC Law Review as well as a staff member of the Urban Lawyer. In 1998, Shannon was awarded the Candler S. Rogers Legal Writing Award, signifying the best-written student submission to the UMKC Law Review during that year.

After receiving her Juris Doctor degree, Shannon served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable James M. Smart, Jr., at the Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District. It was while clerking for Judge Smart that Shannon began working on an advanced law degree in taxation. Following her stint as a judicial law clerk, Shannon joined one of the largest firms in Kansas City as an associate in its estate planning department. While working as a law associate, Shannon completed her work on her LL. M. in taxation, and was awarded that degree from the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law. Shannon left the big firm practice of law to practice with a small, specialized estate planning boutique firm in Kansas City.

After taking several years off from the practice of law to raise three young boys, Shannon is excited to be directing the estate planning practice at Millikan Wright LLC.
